Climate

Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate. In summer, dry hot days are often relieved by stiff evening breezes, especially in the north, on the islands and in coastal areas. Athens can be stiflingly hot in summer. Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons for hiking and mountain biking, when the days are sunny but not unreasonably hot. However, you won’t miss out on warm weather if you come in June or September, excellent times almost everywhere but particularly on the islands. Autumn in general is beautiful; the light is softer, the sea often balmier than the air and the colors subtler.

The Greek population is Christian Orthodox per 98%. The religion of rest of the population is Muslims, Catholic and Jewish.
