Drive from Islamabad to Chilas via Babusar Pass ( Approx. 350 kms./10-11 hrs.). On the way, you can freshen up and have lunch at Naran. There are some good restaurants serving traditional food. Later drive towards Chilas enroute short stop at Lulusar Lake. Overnight at Chilas. Chilas was on the ancient caravan trail over the Babusar Pass into India and on the Indus trail of Besham and travelers in this area left many rock engravings. Chilas is standing under the shadow of world-famous Nanga Parbat.
After breakfast drive from Chilas to Skardu which is Approx. 280 km drive(6:30 hrs.). SKARDU: is the main town of Baltistan along the wide bank of the river Indus. Skardu is very popular with Mountaineering Expeditions. It is equally popular with high-altitude trekkers. Skardu has a character of its own and has very interesting scenery. The Indus becomes wide and still here. The town is surrounded by dry rugged mountains and sand dunes. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the scenic beauty around. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and proceed for a full-day excursion to Satpara, Shigar fort & upper Kachura Lake (Shangrilla). One must not miss a visit to Satpara, a clear water lake surrounded by sky-high glacial mountains mirrored in the crystal clear lake. The lake has a fairy tale island easily accessible by boat (optional). Later proceed to Shigar fort a landscape of gentle, smiling fields dominated by a dreamy wooden village. Onwards drive towards Shangri la Resort named as “Heaven on earth”. This resort has been built around the Kachura Lake; spread over 70 acres, with lush green lawns and fruit-laden orchids. In the evening return to the hotel in Skardu for an overnight stay.
After breakfast full-day excursion Khaplu. KHAPLU: Erected in the 19th century on a flat piece of land, the Khaplu Fort lies near an earlier mud fort constructed on a hill. Richly embellished with three-storied timber balconies, verandahs screened with intricate perforated timber jalis (screens), carved timber posts, fascias, and fenestrations end up making a magnificent symphony of solids and voids, shadow and light. The lintels, jambs, and frames of most doors and windows are richly embellished. In the evening return back to your hotel in Skardu for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, relax & enjoy the surrounding till you start your journey to Chilas. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Overnight in Chilas.
After breakfast start your journey to Naran (Approx 130 Kms./ 4:30 hrs ) Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. Naran is one of the most beautiful parts of northern areas in Pakistan which is elevated 2500 meters above sea level. Its beauty captures a lot of people towards itself and thus it is a famous resort for tourists and trekkers. Overnight at Naran.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and proceed for half-day excursion to Lake Saif ul Maluk. In the afternoon drive back to Islamabad.
